Age UK -new Digital Loan Library to combat loneliness

Age UK has
received funding to purchase some ipads which can be loaned out to elderly
residents in the Cheshire West area. When a client is loaned an ipad they are
also allocated an IT volunteer who will support them with an hour's session per
week. Due to lockdown restrictions this is done by telephone and video call
rather than a face to face visit.

The criteria
for this project is:

Over 50

Cheshire West and Chester
resident

No internet
enabled device in the home

Our
Community Connectors can make referrals to AgeUK on your client's behalf, so if
you are supporting anyone who is struggling to get online and meets this
criteria, please talk to your local Community Connector . The ipads come with a data SIM so no wifi is required.
